To let go, one must first learn to wield the sword of wisdom. The metaphorical 'killing' is the courage to break with the old self and the decisiveness to end delusion.
Wisdom Sword Cutting Afflictions
The practitioner's sword is faith and wisdom. To hold the sword without facing the thief—the greed and anger within—is to be harmed by it. Only by eliminating the false 'I' can the true nature emerge.
Every rising thought is a cycle of birth and death. By using emptiness as the blade, we can sever continuous afflictions in an instant, liberating ourselves from eternal toil.
The Practice of No-Mind
Walking a thousand miles without a trace is the state of non-attachment. Sentient beings wander because they are covered by sensory perceptions, mistaking illusions for the true mind. The awakened one walks freely.
Practice ending conceptual paths. Be fully present in action, then release immediately. Let the mind be like a mirror—responding when things come, becoming empty when they go, free from karmic ties.
The Realization of Stillness
When delusions are exhausted, the original essence manifests. Walking the world becomes a path of serenity. The mind remains empty, quiet, and blissful. May this wisdom lead all beings to the shore of liberation.
